Evans will have to wait another year for a gold jacket.

Former New Orleans Saints guard has again missed out on being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Many thought that this could be his year as it was Evans' 4th year of eligibility. He was named a semi-finalist in 2023 and a finalist in both 2024 and 2025.

Evans was drafted by the Saints in the 4th round of the 2006 NFL Draft and immediately made an impact on the field. He was named to the PFWA NFL All-Rookie Team and Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team for his outstanding play during his rookie season.

During his 11-year NFL career with the Saints, Seahawks and Packers, Evans was named to the Pro Bowl 6x, All-Pro 4x and was a part of Saints' offense line who won the Madden Most Valuable Protectors award 2x and Super Bowl XLIV.

He was also selected to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, New Orleans Saints 50th Anniversary Team and was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2024.

Evans has served as a Saints assistant coach for the past three seasons and was just recently hired as an assistant offensive line coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As for Canton, Evans will have to wait another year for the opportunity to get a gold jacket.
