Tackling Tradition: Float 7 is the MVP of Tucks 2026 With a Defensive Roster cover image

Saints stars descend upon Tucks 2026, transforming Float 7 into a defensive dream team. Get ready for a toilet-paper-tossing spectacle unlike any other.

If you’ve ever stood on the corner of Napoleon and St. Charles, you know that the Krewe of Tucks isn't just a parade, it’s a high-octane, toilet paper throwing, hell of a good time in New Orleans Mardi Gras tradition. But this year, as the 2026 Carnival season reaches its fever pitch, all eyes are on Float 7.

Why? Because the roster on that single float reads less like a parade unit and more like a defensive coordinator’s fever dream.

A Roster of Heavy Hitters

The 2026 Tucks parade, themed "Tucks Finally Cracks," is leaning into its chaotic roots by hosting a powerhouse lineup of New Orleans Saints talent. The parade is one of the LEGENDARY highlightED events in the final week of the 2026 Carnival season. On Float 7, fans will find a blend of veteran leadership, rising stars, and a deep-cut local legend:

Cam Jordan: The undisputed king of the Saints' defensive line and a perennial Mardi Gras enthusiast.

Justin Reid & Chase Young: High-profile playmakers who have embraced the city’s culture with open arms.

Quincy Riley, Isaiah Stalbird, & Bub Means: The young guns proving that the future of the Black and Gold is in good hands.

Greg Fassitt: A true "Saints Legend" and New Orleans native whose presence bridges the gap between the team's storied past and its vibrant present.

Why This Matters for the City

There is something uniquely "New Orleans" about seeing a multi-million dollar defensive end like Cam Jordan or a disruptor like Chase Young trading a pigskin for a plunger.

In most NFL cities, players are figures you see from 300 feet away behind a face mask. In New Orleans, during the noon-roll of Tucks, they are just another group of guys in a "Tucks-edo" trying to hit you with a roll of embossed toilet paper. This accessibility is the secret sauce of our local culture.

Known for unique items, Tucks will throw their signature decorated toilet paper, along with plungers and toilet brushes. Tucks consists of approximately 2,500 riders.

The "Saints Legend" Factor

The inclusion of Greg Fassitt is a particularly classy touch. While the media often hyper-focuses on current stars, Tucks understands the value of the "local hero." Fassitt, a former Kennedy High and Grambling State standout who found his way to the Saints, represents the homegrown grit that defines this city. Seeing him on the same float as the current defensive core reminds us that being a Saint is a lifelong membership.

A Who Dat Celebration

Float 7 isn't just a float, it’s a celebration of the synergy between the Saints and the city they call home. If you're heading out this Saturday, February 14th, keep your eyes peeled for the "Tucks Finally Cracks" theme, and maybe wear a helmet. The parade begins at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street and will end on Poydras Street off of Canal Street. Get ready, because when this group of professional athletes starts hurlin' those signature hand-decorated toilet brushes, they aren't going to miss.
