Such a great start, but more work needs to be done.

On the first day of the legal tampering window, the New Orleans Saints had a chance to make a great start, and they did just that. On day one, the Saints signed RB Travis Etienne, LG David Edwards, P Ryan Wright, and TE Noah Fant. All of these signings fix needs around the roster, but that does not mean the work is done for New Orleans.

There are still some major roster spots the Saints need to address.

LB

The Saints were able to add four players in free agency, but they also lost some. At the top of the list was LB Demario Davis, and now, the Saints' LB room is much weaker. This was an expected outcome for Davis, but the impact was still significant. Right now, Pete Werner, Danny Stutsman, and Isaiah Stalbird are the LBs on the roster, and although Stutsman may be the guy to take over Davis' role, another addition must be made.

New Orleans could risk and wait until the draft, but bringing someone in before then would be smart.

Potential Options: Leo Chenal, Bobby Okereke, Dre Greenlaw

EDGE

Another veteran set to leave is Cam Jordan, and although the Saints could still bring him back, we are going to move forward assuming that does not happen. So EDGE becomes even more of a need than it was. The depth was already an issue for this team, but now, the Saints need to add at least one more starter opposite Chase Young. Many of the top options are off the market, but some great players remain.

Potential Options: K'Lavon Chaisson, A.J. Epenesa, Arnold Ebiketie

CB

One other departure from the Saints' defense was the start of CB Alontae Taylor, and now the Saints need to add another starter. They should look for this in the draft, but adding a starter needs to happen first. This should be a slot corner, but the Saints could add an outside corner and move someone on the roster to the slot.

Potential Options: Nate Hobbs, Tariq Woolen, Kader Kohou

WR

The last major position of need is a WR2 to partner with Chris Olave, and unlike the other positions listed, there are still a number of big-name players on the market. By bringing in a free-agent WR now who can start right away, it upgrades the room while also creating more flexibility in the draft.

Potential Options: Romeo Doubs, Jauan Jennings, Keenan Allen
