Free agency is not done, and the Saints still have cap space to make moves.

Although the legal tampering window started with a bang for the New Orleans Saints, the news has slowed down. Correctly, the Saints are being very selective and careful with the contracts they are giving out. So while many fans, including me, would love for them to pursue players like Jauan Jennings or Keenan Allen, those are unrealistic given their price tags.

It's time for bargain shopping, and the Saints have cap space to add some players before the draft.

Here are some of those free agents:

G/C Brock Hoffman

Entering free agency, Brock Hoffman was a name I had written about as a potential depth option for the Saints, but then, it broke that he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Well, turns out that was not the truth, and Hoffman is still available.

With some history under Kellen Moore when both were with the Cowboys, Hoffman can play both center and guard, and has started many games for Dallas. For the Saints, he can add depth to step in if there are injuries, plus, if New Orleans moves on from Cesar Ruiz, Hoffman could be a short-term fix at RG.

CB Rasul Douglas

The next cheaper free agent is on defense, and although he should be more expensive than Hoffman, not by too much. Last season on the struggling Miami Dolphins, Rasul Douglas was a standout on defense and is now a starter in the NFL.

Douglas plays really well in zone, and he could bring some stability to a volatile CB room in New Orleans. He can slot in right away at CB2, and on a cheap short-term contract.

K Daniel Carlson

Yeah, I know, a kicker, how exciting, but the Saints may need one. Charlie Smyth was such a good story, and he was decent in 2025, but doing nothing and believing that he is the clear starter in 2026 could easily get the Saints in another Blake Grupe situation.

The best option available is former Las Vegas Raiders K Daniel Carlson, and he would be cheap enough to bring in just for competition.

WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Back to the more exciting positions, the Saints still need a WR. I listed two earlier, but as I mentioned, those options are probably too expensive. Instead, the Saints can continue adding to the depth and have some great battles in training camp. Looking at the available players, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine would be a really fun option.

Just two years ago, Westbrook-Ikhine was a breakout player for the Tennessee Titans and commanded decent money from the Dolphins in free agency. There were expectations from him, but it didn't work.

Westbrook-Ikhine is still talented and can fight to be a WR3/4 for next season. Although the Saints should add a day 1 or 2 WR in the draft, Westbrook-Ikhine would elevate the depth of the team.
