A position of need that the Saints need to address somewhere.

The 2026 NFL Draft is nearly here, and this is a monumental one for the New Orleans Saints. Yes, there is a bit less pressure on them because of Tyler Shough's emergence and the team going in the right direction, but that does take away some of the importance of what the Saints could do. With one more excellent draft class, this team, which has expectations of competing in the NFC South, could become a real playoff contender next season.

Again, this has to happen with a strong draft, and the three positions that must be addressed are WR, EDGE, and CB. For the first two, finding a starter is the minimum, so utilizing picks on the first two days will accomplish that, but for CB, it's more about depth.

Kool-Aid McKinstry and Quincy Riley are set to be the starting outside CBs next season, which is perfectly fine, but there is a risk to doing this. Any step back, lack of improvement, or injury could impact the defense's success, so improving the depth is important.

If the Saints want to find a nice depth piece in the CB room, utilizing one of their many day 3 picks would be the best way to get that done, and here are some options in those rounds.

Devin Moore

The first CB that could bean option for the Saints is Florida's Devin Moore. At 6-foot-3, Moore brings size to the Saints. Both McKinstry and Riley are under 6 feet, and it has been an issue against larger WRs, so Moore would be able to deal with that.

He also has the ideal length for the Saints, and fits Staley's zone-focused scheme with man coverage sprinkled throughout.

Julian Neal

Similar to Moore, Julian Neal, out of Arkansas, is a taller CB who can shine in both man and zone schemes. What makes him a potentially even better choice than Moore is his other measurables. Neal has excellent length, hand size, and weight, and ran a faster 40-yard dash.

As a tackler, Neal is really good and would be one of the best in the Saints DB room. With that being an issue last season, Neal would be a needed improvement. Also, Neal was at the Senior Bowl, which is important for the Saints.

Charlie Demmings

Someone who should be available a bit later than Moore and Neal is Charlie Demmings. Like Neal, Demmings was a Senior Bowl participant.

Coming out of Stephen F. Austin, he needed to have a good week to make a name for himself, and he did. Demmings has ideal measurements for the Saints and ran a 4.41 40-yard dash.
