It's become clear that the New Orleans Saints can’t win games on coaching alone, and the overall roster isn't talented enough, at this point, to beat worse teams. So, to actually win games, the Saints need to have standout performances from players around the roster, and the good news for Week 6 is that they can make it happen. The New York Giants are a horrible mistake from the Washington Commanders, away from being 3-2. Instead, they are 3-1-1; this team is very well coached, and of course, they are very high in the league at blitzing. Another tough matchup for the Saints, but talent-wise, they have a chance to do some good things.
So, here are some players that could have big games in the Saints’ Week 6 game.
Chase Young
I'm putting Chase Young on this list again, and this game may be his best chance to make a significant impact this season. If the Giants don't focus on him all game, Young has a great matchup if Andrew Thomas is out, which is possible. Another factor that may keep Young from making an impact is if the opposing offense has a strong run game and can rely on it, but the Giants have struggled there. It lets Young focus on the pass, and with Jameis Winston at QB, a strong pass rush can create mistakes.
Again, this depends on Thomas being out and the Giants not focusing all their energy on stopping Young, which could happen.
Kendre Miller
This is a crazy one, I know, but the Giants' run defense has struggled this year, and Kendre Miller could exploit that. I really had to choose the RB that the Saints would likely give the most snaps to, and with Miller’s great moments as a rusher, he was the clear choice. As long as there are no fumbles, which is not a guarantee, I think Miller has an opportunity to really help the Saints' offense. But if the run game struggles, the team may never find consistency there.
Christen Miller
I mentioned the Giants' rushing attack isn't doing too well this season, and another player who could really benefit is Christen Miller. He's had a decent start to the season, but we still need a performance that proves he was worth the second-round pick, and the Giants game is a chance for Miller to control the Saints' run defense. Hopefully the Saints will commit to making that happen.
