Another day of the legal tampering period is behind us, and the Saints made some moves.

The New Orleans Saints had an excellent day on day 1, making the massive signings of Travis Etienne and David Edwards, while also addressing more needs by bringing in Noah Fant and Ryan Wright. Day 2 was a bit different; for a while, the Saints did not make a move, but they ended up signing a player who filled a major need.

Late in the day, the Saints signed Kaden Elliss to a 3-year, $33M deal, filling the void left by Demario Davis in the LB room. Although the Saints could still add another LB, which can now be left to the draft, some other needs could still be dealt with in free agency, and here they are.

WR

A position the Saints have still not addressed and that has been widely assumed will be addressed in the draft is WR. The Saints are missing a WR2 on this roster, and with the injuries that plagued the team last year, getting two more pass catchers this offseason should be the plan. For the free-agent choice, the Saints should prioritize players who can bring something new to the offense, but also not be too expensive to sign.

Potential Options: Jauan Jennings, Keenan Allen, Calvin Austin III

EDGE

Cam Jordan is still on the market and could come back, but if that does not happen, the Saints must add an edge rusher in free agency. The position should still be a priority in the draft, but getting someone before draft day will allow for some flexibility with their selections. Again, Jordan could be brought back, but if not, the Saints need to start looking for his replacement.

Potential Options: Arnold Ebiketie, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Leonard Floyd

CB

Another massive need for the Saints is CB, and this could be slot or outside. If New Orleans decides to sign an outside CB, they can move Quincy Riley into the slot or maybe one of the safeties, but that could be risky if it does not work. The other choice is signing a guy with a background playing in the slot, maybe moving outside when needed.

Potential Options: Nate Hobbs, Kader Kohou, Cam Taylor-Britt

RG

The Saints currently have a starting RG in Cesar Ruiz, but looking at the options in free agency, there are still some great players available that could take over in 2026. Ruiz was disappointing in 2025, and GM Mickey Loomis even addressed this in his end-of-season press conference. There is a clear belief that the front office needs to see better results from Ruiz, but if they don't want to bet on that, the Saints can pivot and sign a new starter now.

Potential Options: Wyatt Teller, Kevin Zeitler, James Daniels
