A fun game is right around the corner!
The New Orleans Saints are going into Week 3 ready to face off against the 2-0 Las Vegas Raiders. Although their opponents were considered one of the league's bottom teams, Las Vegas has done really well so far this season, and this won't be a walk in the park.
The Raiders' defense has been exciting so far, and their offense is loaded with weapons. Add those units, plus a head coach with a familiar name to the Saints, Klint Kubiak, and you have a very interesting team to play that can do real damage. Still, this is a winnable game, and the Saints could have some big performances.
Chris Olave
I mean, this is a pretty obvious choice, but Olave should be able to have yet another big game. This isn't an easy Raiders secondary to play, but it's younger. Eric Stokes is the main veteran of the group, but Darien Porter is in his second year, and Hezekiah Masses is a rookie. This group has been really talented this year, but its age could get exposed in the game.
The Ravens' pass defense has also been great so far and arguably has more talent, and the Saints still did well against them. Olave has been incredible so far this season, and his ability to beat anyone, while also getting great passes from Tyler Shough, has made him hard to cover, no matter who is trying to stop him.
Chase Young
So far, Las Vegas has had a strong pass-blocking season, but with Kirk Cousins at QB, the Saints won't have to worry about his scrambling ability. That allows Chase Young, a player who has become one of the best players on the Saints and by far the best on defense, to get multiple pressures in this game.
Pressured then lead to turnovers, and that's where we have the next player.
Jonas Sanker
Last, we have Sanker, who will likely be covering Brock Bowers, a returning game changer for the Raiders who can really hurt the Saints. This team has not had the best time covering TEs, so the pressure is on for the defense, but with Sanker playing the slot position, he will have a chance to prove himself against one of the best TEs.
Also, as I hinted before, an interception could be thrown from Cousins in this game, and if he's trying to go to his safety blanket (Bowers), Sanker could be the one getting that turnover.
