The New Orleans Saints secured a much-needed victory in Week 10, defeating the Carolina Panthers in convincing fashion. The defense set the tone early, while the offense showed renewed life under its rookie quarterback. For fantasy managers, several Saints delivered standout performances. Here are the top Saints fantasy football performers (PPR format) from the matchup.
Chris Olave finally delivered the explosive outing that fantasy managers had been waiting for, hauling in five receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown, including a 62-yard bomb down the right sideline.
Prior to this game, Olave had been consistent yet unremarkable. The target share was there but the efficiency in the passing game was lacking. With Tyler Shough now under center, that changed quickly.
The rookie quarterback’s arm strength and willingness to push the ball down the field unlocked Olave’s big-play potential. Olave’s ability to stretch the field vertically and find soft spots against zone coverage makes him a top-10 fantasy receiver the rest of the way, with a much higher ceiling than he had with Spencer Rattler running the offense.
Juwan Johnson added to his excellent season, rewarding fantasy managers with a season-high 19.2 points in Week 10. He finished with four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown, showing strong chemistry with Tyler Shough.
Johnson entered the week as a popular streaming option, and he is quickly emerging as a weekly starter. He has now finished as a top 10 tight end in three straight games, offering a reliable floor with an increased upside. He should be viewed as a back-end TE1 going forward. Even with the upcoming bye week, he should be rostered in all leagues.
After a rocky debut against the Los Angeles Rams, Tyler Shough bounced back in a major way. He completed 19-of-27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions, leading the Saints to their second win of the year.
While he didn’t run much in this game, Shough’s mobility makes him an intriguing future fantasy option. In a performance unlike last week, he radiated confidence and was sharp in his decision-making. Shough is not yet a viable starting option for fantasy football, but the payoff was substantial for those who took a chance on him in Week 10.
The Saints’ defense dominated from start to finish, holding Carolina to under 200 total yards and just seven points. They forced two turnovers, registered two sacks, and blocked a kick.
With Chase Young healthy and the front seven capable of generating pressure, this unit appears to have new life. With their ability to disrupt the pocket and limit big plays, they are a viable streaming defense against weaker offenses.
