The Seahawks' secondary needed some reinforcements, and it came in the draft, via TCU's Bud Clark.

The Seattle Seahawks' defense was the main reason the franchise won the Super Bowl last season, but in free agency, that unit was picked apart.

We saw several starters and rotational players leave, with the secondary hardest hit.

Riq Woolen and Coby Bryant have moved on to different teams, leaving Mike Macdonald's secondary a little thin.

But the NFL Draft was where the Seahawks were thought to address that, and the franchise did in the second round with TCU safety Bud Clark.

As the newest member of Macdonald's secondary, Clark is expected to provide some good depth behind Julian Love and Ty Okada for Macdonald. Of course, how Clark fares in the offseason will tell us what we can expect from him in Year 1.

However, it appears many are quite high on the safety and his ability to slot in straight away.

And one is NFL.com's Bucky Brooks, who has named Clark as a perfect fit for what Macdonald wants to accomplish in defense.

"On the way to a Lombardi Trophy last season, the Seahawks befuddled offensive coordinators and quarterbacks with an amoeba-like defense that utilized a collection of DBs in various roles," Brooks wrote.

"And though they parted with Coby Bryant and Riq Woolen in free agency, they were able to add Clark, a hybrid who is poised to help Seattle continue to create chaos in 2026."

Grabbing at least three interceptions in each of his last four seasons, Clark is a takeaway merchant and one that, if deployed correctly by Macdonald, could be a key piece in 2026.

Yes, his snaps could be limited by the veterans ahead of him, but Clark will come to Seattle looking to get on the field as soon as possible, and it might be hard to keep him off of it, especially if he shows out at training camp.

Of course, this is all a projection, and we don't really know what we are going to get from Clark, but as far as the perfect situation for a defensive player to be drafted to, it's hard to look past Seattle for Clark.

He's got the coach, and the scheme to bring the best out of him.

Now it's time for it all to come together.
