The Seattle Seahawks earned every bit of the celebration that ensued on Wednesday as the team paraded through the city after rolling through the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX days prior.
It is Seattle's second championship in franchise history, though there aren't many people still with the organization after the first title 12 years ago.
The 12s, however, were loud and proud, just as they've always been.
Just before tour busses drove players, coaches and family members down 4th Avenue, a trophy ceremony was held outside Lumen Field. Players stepped to the podium to address the crowd and soak in the glory of being world champions.
"First off, I wanna say shoutout to [owner] Jody Allen. Shoutout to [general manager] John Schneider for making this all possible, man. Shoutout to coach Mike Macdonald for helping us get to this point," said Ernest Jones IV in a explicit, yet motivational rally cry.
"We have the best defense in the world, and the best team in the world! ..." Jones belted.
Speaking about that all-world defense, which sacked MVP runner-up Drake Maye six times in the big game, newcomer defensive tackle Leonard Williams spoke about the feeling he had about Seattle once he was traded to the team.
"We the champs, baby!" Williams said in speaking to the Seahawks faithful.
"I just gotta say none of this would be possible without y'all, I appreciate y'all. I appreciate the way y'all took me in this year, the way y'all embraced me. I know I didn't get drafted here. I know I didn't start my career here, but I just knew as soon as I got here that this was a special place..."
Macdonald was introduced with a slight dig at him not being named the NFL's Coach of the Year. The award instead went to the Patriots' Mike Vrabel after a 14-3 regular season in his first year coaching in Foxborough.
Seattle's second-year head coach's response?
"I think I'll take this trophy instead."
"When we set on this course two years ago, Jody and I sitting in a hotel room meeting room in Baltimore, this is the vision that we had for the Seahawks. We talk about "12 as one" - look at all the 12s in this stadium right here, see how powerful this is.
"With this football team ... I goosebumps just thinking about it. But this is why we do what we do, to bring people together. That's why football is the best sport in the world."
And in 2025, there wasn't a better team than the Seattle Seahawks.
