This was Kenneth Walker's postseason as the running back proved without a doubt that he can be "the" guy to lead this team.

The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions after defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 in Santa Clara.

Yes, the defense under Mike Macdonald deserves a lot of the credit, but so too does running back Kenneth Walker.

The explosive, bruising back had his way with the Patriots' defense, especially early, as he rattled off two 20+ yard runs on one drive, which helped not only set up a field goal, but also set the tone for the day.

Walker would rush for 135 yards on 27 carries to be the deciding factor in the Seahawks' ability to put up points consistently (even though they were just field goals), in a defensive slugfest in the first half.

Many were unsure of Walker's ability to handle the increased workload after Zach Charbonnet was out with an ACL injury, but Kenneth answered the call time and time again this postseason.

CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles named Walker, his agent, and his wallet as big winners from Sunday's Super Bowl.

"Walker is an impending free agent," Pereles wrote. "Both Walker and coach Mike Macdonald have said they want Walker back in Seattle, and with Charbonnet coming off a major injury, there's a natural fit. Regardless, Walker has boosted his profile significantly over the past month ahead of his first time being a free agent.

"Expect a competitive market -- and, in turn, a nice payday -- for the Super Bowl MVP."

Walker will have a long line of suitors if he and the Seahawks can't figure out a contract, which we think could fetch the four-year back nearly $10 million APY if he really wanted it.

Kenneth and the Seahawks have both expressed a desire to run it back, but of course, we know that money talks, and Walker, being a key player in the Super Bowl, might just give him the advantage in negotiations.

Able to be the bellcow back, carrying the rock 27 times, but also showing the burst and speed that makes him a dangerous threat, the Patriots couldn't stop K9 in San Francisco.

It was a great way to end a superb year for the Seahawks, and in Walker's case, his year could be about to get even better with a lucrative, long-term contract likely on his way.
