Milroe got the full game at quarterback and it was easily his best performance of the offseason.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe knew he had a chance to impress in the final preseason game, and in the 9-9 tie with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, he did just that.
Milroe would start and play the entire game to give him a proper feel for the position, and he took his opportunity well.
Jalen would finish his night going 16 of 26 for 223 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 20 yards on seven carries.
But the numbers don't tell the while story for the quarterback.
After two poor preseason outings where he looked unsure, Milroe was the most decisive we've seen him in quite a while.
The best part of it? His 40-yard completion to Cody White in his own end zone, and then Milroe proceeded to follow that up with a 24-yard strike to Elijah Arroyo.
Jalen was in his bag.
"I think no matter what play it was, doing what was called, whether it's the passing game, running game, ensuring that our offense is going the right direction, seeing it, ripping it, going through progressions, leading the guys," Milroe said of his decisiveness.
"Decisive is all a multitude of ways, especially in this game. But that was definitely the point of emphasis going into this game being decisive and that was something that we talked about for sure."
The Seahawks talked about it, and Milroe delivered and then some.
In fact, he had a chance to win the game.
Jalen orchestrated a 12-play, 41-yard drive, which included a 30-yard completion to Emmanuel Henderson Jr. that set Seattle up at the Chiefs' 34-yard line for Jason Myers to have a shot at a 51-yard field goal to win it.
Myers missed, but the big plus was that Milroe was able to march his team down the field and give the Seahawks a shot at winning.
There was plenty to like about Jalen's performance, and while he won't unseat Drew Lock for the QB2 role, Seahawks fans finally saw the sort of development they had hoped to see in the first two preseason games.
Positive steps were made at Arrowhead Stadium, and maybe the Milroe experiment isn't dead just yet.
