The Seahawks wanted to add some pass rushers to their roster post-draft, and they've done just that.

The Seattle Seahawks addressed several needs during free agency and the NFL draft, but one position that they didn't address was at edge.

With the Seahawks needing more depth and potentially starting players to push DeMarcus Lawrence and Leonard Williams, the draft didn't give Seattle the chance to do so.

But a key part of player acquisition is the undrafted free-agent pool, where teams can often get a steal at several positions.

And the Seahawks jumped on one pass rusher that other teams likely had their eye on, and that was Northwestern's Aiden Hubbard.

The team signed Hubbard to their roster, giving the young pass rusher a chance to stake his claim for a spot over the coming months.

A sack machine at Northwestern over the past two seasons, Hubbard posted his best-ever totals in 2025, producing 10.0 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks in 14 games.

That is the sort of production that Mike Macdonald would love to have on his team, and no, he won't be taking over from Lawrence or Williams, but if the Seahawks can get some decent production from their rotational players, that will bode well.

"Hubbard is a good athlete with adequate burst, change-of-direction quickness and agility," NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote. "He can chase down the action and has a nose for making tackles when he’s close to the ball.

"His rush features athletic elements, but the toolbox needs filling. With more strength and rush development, Hubbard could develop into an average edge defender."

So, it is clear that Hubbard has all the tools needed to make something of himself in the NFL, and you could argue that he's coming to the best situation to make that happen.

Seattle boasted an elite defense last season, and with Macdonald the mastermind, Hubbard is in a great spot to soak up as much knowledge as he can. Not to mention the veterans in front of him who are also at the top of their game right now.

Yes, the odds are stacked against him as an undrafted free agent, but we have seen many players go undrafted and still go on to have long careers in the NFL.

And who knows maybe Hubbard is the next on to add his name to that list.
