Fresh off a Super Bowl victory, Seattle claims the NFL’s top-ranked roster of rising stars. Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon anchor a powerhouse poised for a dynastic run.
The Seattle Seahawks future isn’t just promising, it is perhaps the brightest future in all of the National Football League.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, he ranks every team's young core. And all the way up at No. 1 in his ranking, he has Seattle Seahawks, which is even more impressive given the fact that they just won a Super Bowl.
"Seattle's roster is loaded with young talent, including stars who could soon reset their positional markets in Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Devon Witherspoon. And while quarterback Sam Darnold is no longer in the 27-and-under club, he'll only turn 29 next month," Knox writes. "The Seahawks had the league's best team in 2025, and they're poised to be very good for a very long time."
That distinction says plenty about where the franchise stands under head coach Mike Macdonald. Seattle isn’t rebuilding. It isn’t hoping a young group develops years down the line. The Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl-winning season and a 14-3 record while still leaning heavily on players who have not reached their peak years.

The offensive side alone offers a foundation most organizations would envy. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has already emerged as one of the league’s premier weapons, while Seattle continues to invest around him. The front office doubled down on youth in April’s draft by selecting running back Jadarian Price in the first round, signaling confidence he can become another centerpiece in the offense.
Then there’s the defense — an area that increasingly looks built for sustained success. Seattle added safety Bud Clark and cornerback Julian Neal in the 2026 draft, continuing a trend of stockpiling young defensive talent to fit Macdonald’s system.
And on that side of the ball, the Seahawks have one of the best cornerbacks in all of football in Devon Witherspoon, who is only 25 years old.
Being named the NFL’s top young core doesn’t guarantee another championship. But it does underline why expectations around Seattle remain sky-high.
The Seahawks may already be champions, yet the league apparently believes their best years are still ahead.
