The Seahawks have a well-rounded roster, but when compared to the other teams in football, where do they stack up?
The Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks have had a settled offseason as Mike Macdonald looks to get his group firing for a chance to defend their title.
Of course, it won't be with the same group, as the Seahawks said goodbye to a couple of starting and rotational players who played a key role in the Super Bowl win.
Kenneth Walker, Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen and Boye Mafe are all on other teams, while the Seahawks chose not to replace that quartet in free agency, instead building through the draft and taking care of their own players like Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Derick Hall with new contracts.
As it is presently constructed, the Seahawks' roster is still one of the better units in football, but with the running back position still a big question mark with no Walker and Zach Charbonnet recovering from his ACL injury, Seattle isn't as bulletproof as it once was.
But that brings us to a list by PFN's Ian Cummings, who has gone through the best rosters in football and ranked them accordingly.
And he has listed his top five rosters in the NFL, and it is the Seahawks who land at No. 1, followed by the Los Angeles Rams (No. 2), New England Patriots (No. 3), Denver Broncos (No. 4), and the Houston Texans (No. 5).
Is that right?
Do the Seahawks have the best roster in football?
Granted, a list like this is purely subjective, and for me, if someone were to say the Rams, who acquired Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to solidify their defense, along with having Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua headlining the offense, as the NFL's best, I can see it.
Seattle doesn't have too many glaring roster holes aside from running back, and that is likely why Cummings has it at No. 1, and you could say the same for the Rams, although running back is a strong position for Sean McVay.
So I think Seahawks fans will take this list with a grain of salt, as you could make a case for a couple of other teams to be up there in the top spot, but when you are the Super Bowl champs, and haven't suffered any devastating losses in the offseason, you can get the benefit of the doubt.
Does Seattle have the NFL's best roster? That, my friends, is quite a conversation starter.
