Shaheed has been getting his feet wet in Brian Fleury's system at training camp, but what has he seen from the group so far?
As the Seattle Seahawks entered training camp, one of the big storylines to follow was how Brian Fleury's offense would look.
Stepping into the Super Bowl-winning shoes of Klint Kubiak, it was no small task for the first-time coordinator.
But as we are now nearly two weeks into camp, the Seahawks offense has been rolling, with Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, AJ Barner and others praising Fleury both for how he teaches and for the system being put in place.
Granted, a lot of what Kubiak had last season is still in the game plan, but with a Fleury flavor to it as he comes from the San Francisco 49ers, where a lot of production comes from the tight ends and running backs.
But for receiver Rashid Shaheed, what has he seen so far from the offense in camp?
"A lot of explosiveness," Shaheed said. "A lot of guys that can move the ball. Sam [Darnold] has been absolutely amazing throughout this camp. We like where we are as a offense execution-wise. Of course, there's some wrinkles that we got to figure out and fix, but at this point in camp, we like where we're at."
Shaheed is set to account for a lot of that explosiveness.
His work on special teams last season gave the Seahawks a significant advantage, but now he is transitioning into a bigger role on offense to help JSN manage the passing game workload.
Seen a lot this offseason getting work on short and intermediate routes, Shaheed, from all accounts, has looked good and is developing chemistry with Darnold in a way that should hold the pair in good stead when the regular season rolls around.
Yes, we are still in the early phase of camp, and there is still plenty being worked on, but this Seahawks offense looks to be one that can move the ball down the field...and in a hurry.
Of course, the likes of Jadarian Price and George Holani will still get their lick of the ice cream out of the backfield, but the ability to pair that with a passing game that can get big chunk plays is tough to defend.
So, if we had to describe Seattle's offense so far in camp? Explosive definitely comes to mind.
