Offensive weapon Rashid Shaheed is set to be a free agent, but will he return to the Seahawks in 2026?
The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of things to address in the coming weeks, and for most, that centers around running back Kenneth Walker.
The Super Bowl MVP winner is an impending free agent, and with reports that the Seahawks won't tag him, what that means for his future in Seattle is unknown.
But another explosive offensive weapon is set to join Walker in the free agency pool, and that is dynamic returner/receiver Rashid Shaheed.
A midseason trade from the New Orleans Saints, Shaheed quickly developed into quite the weapon for Seattle's special teams and offense.
His kickoff return for a touchdown in the divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers sent Seattle on its way, and it never looked back.
But now that he is a Super Bowl champion, his price has gone up dramatically, and being a free agent, that's ideal.
However, does Rasheed see himself coming back in 2026?
"Absolutely, absolutely, yeah," Shaheed said on NFL Insiders via NFL.com. "Conversations are definitely going to be heating up towards March. But you know, I would love to come back. I loved my experience here, I'm loving the Pacific Northwest, and obviously the organization is second to none.
"I kind of want to run it back. We just won the Super Bowl, so, you know, why not?"
Seahawks fans will hope that Walker has a similar thought to Rasheed.
In truth, it was always going to be a little tricky to have everyone return to try and run it back in 2026. For the Seahawks, there are a host of impending free agents who will be commanding some serious money in the coming weeks.
At that point, the Seahawks will have to pick and choose whom they want to keep. In Shaheed's case, his value on special teams and as a receiver might lead Seattle to lean toward keeping him under Mike Macdonald.
There will be a lot that has to play out over the coming weeks and months for the Seahawks as free agency and the draft come into view, but keeping as many players as possible from a Super Bowl-winning team is the goal.
Shaheed wants a reunion, let's see if Seattle does too.
