Here is who is on the field as the Seattle Seahawks begin prep for Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots.
With their NFC Championship behind them, the Seattle Seahawks are ready to begin gearing up for a matchup with the AFC-champ New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
The Seahawks return to the practice field on Thursday and will have the weekend off while the Pro Bowl Games take place in Santa Clara a week before the big game.
The time off should be especially helpful for Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold, who was a postseason addition to the injury report with an oblique injury.
If his performance in the win over the Los Angeles Rams was any indication, however, Darnold is near full health. He will likely enter the final game of the year in prime condition if all goes according to plan this next week and a half.
Below is the injury report for Wednesday ahead of the Seahawks' first Super Bowl practice, as released by the team website. Though on-field work doesn't begin until Thursday, the report was due a day earlier, so player distinctions are "an estimation of participation had they held a practice."
Did not participate
- OT Amari Kight (knee)
- LB Ernest Jones IV (chest)
Limited participation
- OT Charles Cross (foot)
- FB Robbie Ouzts (neck)
- WR Jake Bobo (hand)
- QB Sam Darnold (oblique)
- OT Josh Jones (knee/ankle)
- FB Brady Russell (hand)
- FS Julian Love (shoulder)
- LB Drake Thomas (shoulder)
- TE Eric Saubert (hamstring)
Full participation
- LB Chazz Surratt (ankle)
The Seahawks are notably thin at offensive tackle here, and that's been the case throughout this two-game playoff run.
Leading up to the conference title game, the trio of left tackles also missed the first practice of the week. Darnold was sacked three times against the Rams. Cross remained in his starting duties while the backups were injured (Knight missed the game entirely).
Russell and Thomas each expectedly appear on the report after exiting the game after sustaining their injuries.
Bobo is another player to note. He has caught a pass in both playoff games after only having two receptions in 11 games played during the regular season. His lone touchdown grab of the year came last week when he helped put the Seahawks ahead 24-13 in the third quarter. It came one play after the Rams' muffed punt set Seattle up in the red zone.
On the New England side, All-Pro quarterback Drake Maye was listed as a limited participant. He is a new addition to the report after soreness in his right shoulder after the snowy AFC title game win over the Denver Broncos.
Other starters listed on the initial injury report are linebackers Harold Landry (knee) a Robert Spillane (ankle).
