The Seahawks have gone winless in the preseason as Mike Macdonald's team now turns for Week 1.
The Seattle Seahawks ended their preseason with a 9-9 tie with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, as attention now turns to Week 1 and the New England Patriots.
Jalen Milroe got the start, and he impressed, going 16 of 26 for 223 yards and a touchdown, while having a 40, 24, and 30-yard completion on the night.
Milroe managed to walk his team down the field in the fourth quarter to set up a Jason Myers 51-yard field goal to win the game, but the kicker missed, and the Seahawks walked out of Arrowhead winless for the preseason.
Here is the Good, bad and ugly from the 9-9 tie.
Good - Milroe looks the part:
There is one overriding thought after Milroe's performance against the Chiefs, and that is decisive.
Whether that be in the run game or the passing game, Milroe didn't hesitate, and when it was time to let it rip, he did just that.
It was the sort of performance we had been waiting for from Milroe, and we got to see it for four quarters as he looked comfortable and, in truth, looked the best he had in a Seahawks uniform.
Of course, he was going against third- and fourth-string players, but Milroe still looked confident and assured at quarterback, and he and the Seahawks will take a lot of confidence into the regular season because of it.
Bad - Jason Myers' ending to preseason:
You always want to end preseason in a positive manner, but kicker Jason Myers didn't.
A 51-yard field goal, which by his standards is usually a 'pencil it in" type of kick, was missed.
Now, it is preseason, but with the game on the line, Myers couldn't get it done, and yes, we are clutching at straws here, but even though it's preseason, you still want your kicker in good form.
Myers was 0/1 against the Dallas Cowboys on field goals, 1/2 against the Tennessee Titans, and 1/2 against the Chiefs.
Not ideal.
Ugly - Winless preseason:
Are we clutching at straws? Yeah, probably, but going winless in preseason isn't ideal, and we know that, in the grand scheme of things, it matters little, if anything. One win would have been nice.
Oh, well, onto the regular season we go folks.
