Cupp, who played with Donald in L.A., has already been in contact with his former teammate about potentially coming out of retirement.
The Seattle Seahawks will now have to face Myles Garrett twice a year after the Los Angeles Rams executed a monster trade for the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
It now puts the Rams at the top of the Super Bowl contenders list, and it also makes Seattle's task of repeating as NFC West champs tougher as well.
But Mike Macdonald might just be fine with that.
However, what he might not be fine with is the rumors coming out after the Garrett trade was finalized, that another game-wrecker could be linking up with the Rams.
Aaron Donald, who is retired, according to rumors, could potentially be thinking about coming out of retirement to link up with Garrett to make the Rams' defensive line a nightmare to face.
But if Seahawks fans were worried about potentially seeing Garrett and Donald on the same team together, well, you don't have to sweat.
Why? Because Seahawks receiver and former teammate of Donald, Cooper Kupp, has already straightened it out.
“I already texted him and told him he’s not allowed,” a smiling Kupp said on The Rich Eisen Show on ESPN. “I just texted Aaron and I said, ‘Don’t even think about it.’ I just left it at that, so we’re good. I’m not worried about it, because he’s not because I told him he can't.
“I already nipped it in the bud. Nobody has to worry.”
Well, there you go. No Donald return.
Of course, if Donald does want to brush the dust off his cleats and make what would be a sensational return, the Rams aren't going to say no, and I'm fairly sure Aaron won't be taking Kupp's words seriously. Although I'd imagine Seattle fans hope he would.
Donald was still productive in his final NFL season in 2023, registering 8.0 sacks, 23 quarterback hits and 16 tackles for loss in 16 games.
The big question is, does he have the desire to go through a full offseason to get his football legs back, plus a 17-game schedule and what many think will be a deep playoff run?
Granted, Donald wouldn't be an every-down player now, but to have him pinch-hit for Garrett and even at times be on the same field would be nightmare fuel for NFL offenses.
But they don't have to worry about it, because Kupp has the situation handled...right?
