After Drew Lock and the offense marched down the field on the opening drive, going 74 yards in 10 plays before Elijah Arroyo's touchdown, the good vibes were flowing in Nashville.
But not for long.
As Mike Macdonald's defense took the field, after just one play, rookie safety Bud Clark went down with a lower leg injury, and players immediately took a knee.
Nearly all of the 91 Seahawks players on the sidelines came onto the field to offer their support to Clark, and the News Tribune's Gregg Bell stated that everyone looked "distraught," which tells you all you need to know.
Plus, updates from the stadium now state that an air cast has been placed on Clark's leg, which, as we know, isn't a good sign.
Of course, we won't speculate as to what the injury is, but the fact that players were distraught and then the air cast, we don't get a good feeling, and I am sure Seattle is hoping for the best.
With the Seahawks' secondary under a little bit of a question mark, as evidenced by the Trevon Diggs signing, there is a good chance that Seattle could be without Clark for a little while.
When it comes to preseason games, yes, teams want to play well and get in some good work, but the No. 1 thing each and every team wants is to emerge injury-free. While the Seahawks had all the momentum, it was quickly drained after Clark's injury.
On Seattle's second offensive drive, it was Jacardia Wright who sprung free for a 70-yard touchdown run to further extend the Seahawks' lead.
But the big story here is Clark's injury, as the Seahawks will now most likely have to look for other options at safety, with many online citing the air cast as a "bad sign" for Bud and his short-term future.
