Holani has gotten a front-row seat to Price's first training camp, and he's liked what he's seen.
When the Seattle Seahawks allowed Kenneth Walker to leave in the offseason, many were questioning what impact that would have on the run game, plus how the franchise would cover the loss of the Super Bowl MVP.
Well, Seattle's response was taking Notre Dame back Jadarian Price in the first-round of the NFL Draft and pairing him with Zach Charbonnet once he returns following an ACL injury.
Given that Charbonnet is on the sidelines, many thought that Price would be the starter, but as training camp has unfolded, it has been George Holani who has gotten a lot of work with the first team.
Of course, that could change as camp rolls on, and Price has gotten his feet wet in an NFL training camp, and now he's starting to come to grips with what's being asked of him.
Holani has been with Price all offseason, getting to see how the rookie operates both on and off the field, and what he's seen from his teammate over the course of the offseason has left him impressed.
“He has great contact balance, great feet, great hands in the pass game,” Holani said via Fox13Seattle. “He’s really explosive with his cuts. So, he’d be making like two cuts in one play. And, it’s crazy how he can get vertical and find that crease and then make another cut to get open and just get a lot of yards from that.”
How new coordinator Brian Fleury puts together his running back room is going to be an interesting watch.
Holani, Price, and Emanuel Wilson loom as the three who will be getting the share of the workload until Charbonnet returns, which most think won't be until at least midway through the season.
So it could very well be Holani and Price to kick things off in Week 1 against the New England Patriots for Fleury, and based on what we've seen and heard, that duo might make a good fist of it for Seattle.
Granted, training camp has only just begun, but Price has been putting together good days of production, and Holani has noticed.
Could this be Seattle's one-two punch to begin the year? It sure feels like it.
