There are many question marks over the run game with Jadarian Price entering the new season, but not everyone is so down on the former Notre Dame back.
The Seattle Seahawks selected Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price in the first round of the draft, making him the second back from the college powerhouse to go early (Jeremiyah Love at No. 4).
While some draft experts are a little unsure if Price can be the guy for an offense, having played second fiddle behind Love in his college career.
Some think Price can be a productive weapon for new coordinator Brian Fleury, and he'll likely get the chance early to lead the room while Zach Charbonnet recovers from his ACL injury.
But when it comes to expectations for what Price could produce, we are a little unsure, and for most, Love, who is the better overall back, should have better stats this year, right?
Well, not for everyone.
NFL Network's Marc Ross, in his training camp hot takes, thinks Price will have more yards than Love, and his reasoning is solid.
"Hot take, Price will have more rushing yards than Love," Ross said. "It's not about the talent, we know Jeremyiah Love got taken with the fourth overall pick in the draft for a reason, but it's about the situation.
"Arizona is coming off being 31st in the league in rushing last season. I just find it really hard for Love to produce at a level that Price will, with Sam Darnold, with one of the nastiest defenses in the league, you'll be having leads, Jaxon Smith-Njigba out there as well."
We often say where you get drafted matters, and this is the case for both Love and Price.
Just because you are a high draft pick doesn't guarantee you will have a great rookie season. Just ask Ashton Jeanty with the Las Vegas Raiders, who was a slow burn last season.
And for Price, he's coming into the right situation, as Ross mentioned. With the other offensive weapons, plus a veteran quarterback at the peak of his powers, there is every chance Jadarian could have a very good year.
Conversely, for Love, the offensive line isn't good, the quarterback situation (Jacoby Brissett or Gardner Minshew) is far from ideal, and there aren't many other weapons to command a defense's attention beyond Trey McBride (maybe Marvin Harrison Jr.).
So, Price could be in the best situation to produce better right out of the gate than Love, but it would be a brave person, at least right now, to think Jadarian could out-rush his Notre Dame teammate in 2026.
