The Seahawks have begun training camp as the Super Bowl champs, and Smith-Njigba is ready to get this thing rolling in the right direction.

The Seattle Seahawks have a different vibe to them this offseason; after all, they are the defending Super Bowl champs.

But head coach Mike Macdonald and his staff have done a good job in making sure what transpired last season is put on the back burner now, as it doesn't help preparations for the new season.

The Seahawks have begun training camp, and right now, the sun is shining, everyone looks like a Pro Bowler and life is good.

Of course, we know that won't last as the NFL is an unforgiving beast and just when you think you have things figured out, the football gods intervene.

But no doubt things are a little different as the Seahawks kick off training camp as the defending champions, right?

All-Pro receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba thinks so.

“You can feel the excitement, you can feel the energy,” Smith-Njigba said. “Definitely having a great year is definitely awesome and we want to repeat that of course, but I think just coming in there's been a new energy just a fresh start and ready to get going ready to take the next step as a team and a new beginning so to speak.

"So, we're excited, we're juiced up to get it going.”

The Seahawks, to an extent, are a different team as Macdonald alluded to, with changes in players' personal lives, different players, and staff members.

One of the biggest changes was at offensive coordinator with Brian Fleury taking over from Klint Kubiak, who is now the Las Vegas Raiders head coach.

So JSN will have a different voice in his ear this offseason as Fleury looks to bring some of what made the San Francisco 49ers successful, to Seattle.

Granted, there will be some added wrinkles with the majority of the playbook and verbiage reportedly staying the same, but still, there will be a learning curve. Exactly what the offense will look like under Fleury, at least right now, is a little unknown, but as camp progresses, we'll find out a lot more.

It has been a successful year for Seattle, but now they are back at square one with the rest of the league, which is why training camp is important for laying a good foundation for the season ahead.

And as the defending Super Bowl champs, it is easy to see why there is so much excitement for the new season and why JSN is juiced up to get this thing rolling again.

They're the hunted.
