Seattle icon Wilson, 37, isn't ready to hang up his cleats. He plans to play until at least 40, aiming to lead another team to victory.

Russell Wilson would like a word.

And the word is not “retirement.”

We bet that the Seattle Seahawks icon would not consider this some sort of “formal announcement”; rather, its simply Wilson, 37, doing his job …

While hoping that in 2016, some NFL team gives him one.

Wilson recently reiterated that as NFL free agency nears (starting with the opening of the league business year on March 11 ), he believes he’s a quarterback who can help a team win.

Can he did it in the way he did during his Super Bowl years im Seattle?

Thst seems unlikely. But Wilson’s plan to play until he’s 40 seems to be still intact.

“Yeah,” he said recently, “I want to play a few more years for sure. I think for me you know I’ve always had the the the vision of getting to 40 at least.”

Wilson’s 2025 regular-season totals in Pittsburgh were poor at 831 passing yards, three TD and three interceptions.

And his two years in Denver after being dealt by the Seahawks weren’t much better.

But for a decade in Seattle, he was “DangerRuss” as he became a perennial Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl winner.

For Seahawks fans, there is likely some hope that Wilson gets a happy ending. But for free agent Russell? It’s clear he doesn’t want that ending to come any time soon.
