Charbonnet will start the season on the PUP list, meaning a free runway for the Seattle rookie to see a lot of burn in Year 1.
Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price has been seen by many to be one of the leaders of the running back room.
The first-round selection was expected to be part of the rotation under Brian Fleury with Zach Charbonnet rehabbing his torn ACL.
It is expected that Charbonnet will miss a large chunk of the season, and that means that Price could see a lot of work early on.
And the Seahawks just about confirmed that with Charbonnet being placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
That means at a minimum, Charbonnet will miss the first four games of the regular season, and most are of the opinion that the running back will miss at least the first half of the season.
So that now means that Price is set to get a heavy workload for the first half of the year.
Now, he'll likely split carries with George Holani, as he has taken a lot of reps with the first team over the duration of the offseason, but expect Price to get a lot of work to begin his NFL career.
Prior to the NFL Draft, many scouts had the thought that Price, despite being behind Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, could easily be a starting back in the league, and now we are going to see if that is true.
Given that Price hasn't seen any burn in Seattle's three preseason games, the franchise likely knew that this was going to be the path with Charbonnet, so they might have wanted to keep him fresh for the season.
We know that the rookie wall is a real thing, and you could argue even more so for running backs.

So Seattle wants to preserve Price so that he can be a useful weapon for Fleury for the duration of the year. Plus, when Charbonnet returns, he will likely be in a ramp-up period, but he will take reps off Price, meaning the rookie can stay fresher for longer.
We knew the Seahawks had a plan for Price, but we weren't exactly sure how much use he was going to get in the backfield.
Well, with Charbonnet on PUP, and Holani the other starting-caliber back, it feels like early in the season it's going to be the Jadarian Price show.
