Drew Lock got the start and was superb for the Seahawks.
For the second straight week, Drew Lock has led the Seattle Seahawks to a win, this time a 31-7 victory against the Arizona Cardinals on the road.
Stepping in for Sam Darnold, who is dealing with a glute issue, it was Lock's show, and after a disjointed first half that saw the offense score just seven points, they came to life in the second.
Seattle outscored the Cardinals 24-0, with Lock's final stat line making for good reading.
He would finish going 19 of 26 for 235 yards and 3 TDs, all of which were to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had 155 yards from nine receptions.
Lock played the bus driver role well yet again, as he did it against the New England Patriots and now against the Cardinals.
And for head coach Mike Macdonald, who was a guest on Seattle Sports, he loved what he saw from his backup on Sunday.
"Oh, man, he was awesome, he was great," Macdonald said. "It was great football, more like a classic Drew performance. Just had some swag, decisiveness, confidence, made some really, what's the right word, I don't know, smart, aggressive throws."
So Lock, in his two games, has been exactly what Macdonald and the Seahawks wanted him to be.
Be aggressive, but don't put the ball in harm's way, and let your playmakers (JSN) get to work.
In his two games, Lock has gone 35 of 48 for 422 yards, 4 TDs, and no interceptions. Oh, and he has a 72.9 completion percentage too, and has only been sacked twice.
That is winning football.
Of course, Seattle will hope Darnold is back sooner rather than later, and Macdonald did state that there "is a chance" Sam could be back this week against the Washington Commanders, but Wednesday's practice will determine it.
Not likely to be rushed back, as the Commanders, it looks like, will be without Jayden Daniels, who dislocated his elbow against the Dallas Cowboys, so the Seahawks might fancy their chances with Lock against Washington to allow Darnold extra time to recover.
Either way, Lock has been the ideal backup.
He's stepped in, has protected the football, made plays when he needed to, and has won both games.
With the last one being a "classic" Drew performance.
