Billionaire tech titans Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook are reportedly circling the Seahawks, potentially driving a historic franchise sale.

The Seattle Seahawks could soon be entering a new era, as growing speculation surrounds the sale of the franchise and a group of high-profile bidders reportedly monitoring the situation.

The team, currently owned by the estate of Paul Allen, has been expected to go up for sale as part of Allen’s long-standing directive that his sports holdings eventually be sold, with proceeds directed toward philanthropic causes. That process now appears to be gaining momentum, drawing attention from some of the wealthiest figures in the world.

Among the most eye-catching rumored bidders are Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook. Reports indicate that at least four potential ownership groups have expressed interest in acquiring the franchise, with the Seahawks projected to command a price that could approach or exceed recent record-setting NFL sales.

Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, would have the financial capability to purchase the team outright with his net worth of over $200 billion. As for Cook—whose net worth is just a measly $2.5 billion—would likely need to be part of a larger ownership group.

The projected sale amount for the Seahawks is likely to be around $9 billion or so, with some predicting that it could exceed $10 billion.

Still, the situation remains fluid. Conflicting reports have surfaced regarding the level of interest from both Zuckerberg and Cook, with some sources suggesting that neither may ultimately pursue a bid. As of now, no formal offers have been confirmed, and representatives tied to the sale process have remained largely silent.

What is clear, however, is that the Seahawks are positioned to become one of the most expensive sports franchises ever sold.

For Seattle, the stakes go beyond business. Ownership transitions often bring shifts in philosophy, investment, and long-term vision. Whether the next owner emerges from the tech world or elsewhere, the decision will play a major role in shaping the future of the franchise.

Until then, the Seahawks remain in a holding pattern—one that has quickly become one of the most fascinating off-field storylines in the NFL.

On the field, Seattle will be looking to defend the Vince Lombardi Trophy, no matter what happens off the field with their ownership.
