The Seahawks' defense was one of the best in football, and they might have a chance this offseason to get substantially better.

The Seattle Seahawks defense, named "Dark Side," was a big reason for the franchise's Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots.

With Mike Macdonald overseeing a superb transformation of the Seahawks in just two seasons, they have climbed the NFL mountain and will look to do so again in 2026.

But to give themselves the best shot at it, the Seahawks, as odd as it sounds, must improve. Even if it is one percent at every position. Because you can bank on all 31 other teams doing it.

However, for a team that was one of the most well-rounded and settled in football last season, how does it get better?

Free agency is one option, and the Seahawks have ample cap room. The NFL Draft is another avenue, although Seattle will pick last in the first round thanks to its Super Bowl win.

So, what could the franchise do? CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan offers up a nightmare scenario for the rest of the NFL, as the Seahawks cash in on the Las Vegas Raiders' turmoil and land Maxx Crosby in a huge trade.

"Could the rich get richer? The Seahawks just lifted the Lombardi Trophy, but that shouldn't prevent them from looking to improve as they gear up for a title defense,” Sullivan wrote.

“Seeing what Mike Macdonald could do with Crosby at his disposal -- coming off a championship season in which Seattle ranked sixth in pressure rate despite primarily rushing four -- would be borderline unfair."

In Sullivan's proposal, the Seahawks give up a 2026 first-round and second-round pick to get Maxx.

That doesn't seem like an awful lot the Raiders are getting in return.

But the Seahawks have the draft capital and the financial means to make a concerted effort to sign Crosby.

What is perhaps the best part of this deal for Seattle is that they don't send any players the other way. Meaning they keep their ferocious defensive front intact, while adding Crosby.

One could only imagine the commentary if the Seahawks did, in fact, pull this move off. The best defense in football is adding one of the best pass rushers to its defensive arsenal.

Yeah, some would say that's borderline unfair.
