Lock’s surgical precision and a dominant 69-yard touchdown run by Jacardia Wright highlight Seattle’s preseason depth, despite costly turnovers and a late collapse against Tennessee’s starters.

The Seattle Seahawks lost a preseason football game Sunday night.

That's about as far as the bad news goes when it comes to the final score.

Seattle blew an early 16-3 lead in a 19-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium, but evaluating August football has a lot more to do with how you get there than whether you actually win.

And Seattle certainly gave us plenty to work with.

There were explosive plays, a few legitimate roster pushes and one quarterback who looked about as comfortable as you could ask ... along with another who probably wants a couple of throws back.

Here are the winners and losers from Seattle's second preseason game.

WINNER: Drew Lock

Drew Lock couldn't have done much more with his opportunity.

Seattle rested its starting offense, leaving Lock to lead a group of backups against Tennessee's starting defense early in the game.

No problem.

Lock completed 12 of 14 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown, finishing with a 121.1 passer rating. He completed his first 10 attempts and led Seattle to points on each of its first three possessions.

His best throw produced seven of them.

Lock found a wide-open Elijah Arroyo for a 36-yard touchdown on Seattle's opening drive, giving the Seahawks their first score.

Seattle knows Sam Darnold is its starter. That wasn't changing Sunday night.

But if the Seahawks wanted another reason to feel good about the guy behind him ... Lock gave them one.

WINNER: Jacardia Wright

It's pretty difficult to make a stronger impression than running 69 yards without being touched.

Wright took a first-quarter handoff straight through the middle of Tennessee's starting defense and didn't stop until he reached the end zone.

He finished with 81 yards on eight carries while adding three receptions for 12 yards.

For a running back trying to carve out his place in Seattle's crowded room, Sunday was about making the most of an opportunity.

Wright certainly did that.

WINNER: Elijah Arroyo

Seattle got another glimpse of why Elijah Arroyo can be such an interesting piece of its offense.

The tight end caught a 14-yard pass from Lock to convert third-and-1 on Seattle's opening possession before getting wide open for a 36-yard touchdown three plays later.

Two catches. Fifty yards. One touchdown.

Not a bad night's work.

And considering both plays came against Tennessee's starting defense, Arroyo gave Seattle another reason to be excited about what he can offer when the games start counting.

LOSER: Jalen Milroe

Here's the other side of Seattle's quarterback night.

Milroe showed flashes. His 16-yard scramble on second-and-14 and 24-yard completion to Mason Foster on second-and-20 were reminders of what makes his skill set so intriguing.

Then came the mistakes.

Milroe finished 6-of-11 for 52 yards with two interceptions, with his first pick giving Tennessee possession at the Seattle 38.

The second was even more painful.

Seattle's defense produced consecutive stops on third-and-1 and fourth-and-1 to give Milroe one final opportunity with 3:28 remaining ... and his pass was intercepted on the very next play.

The upside is still there.

Sunday just provided a pretty good reminder of how much development still needs to happen around it.

WINNER: Connor O'Toole

Connor O'Toole apparently enjoys spending time in opposing backfields.

O'Toole sacked Mitchell Trubisky in the first half, combined with Jamie Sheriff to bring down Will Levis in the third quarter and later dropped Levis for another five-yard loss.

That gave him 1.5 sacks on the night.

Preseason is about turning limited opportunities into reasons for the coaching staff to keep you around.

O'Toole is giving Seattle a few of them.

LOSER: Seahawks Special Teams

Jason Myers probably won't be framing this one.

Myers missed the extra point following Wright's touchdown and later pushed a 44-yard field goal wide right.

Then things got worse.

Cody White muffed a punt in the second quarter, handing Tennessee possession at Seattle's 11. The defense bailed the Seahawks out by holding Tennessee to a field goal, but it was another mistake in a game filled with them.

Seattle lost by three points.

It's preseason, so nobody needs to lose sleep over the math ... but the special teams miscues certainly didn't help.

WINNER: Seattle's Defense

Yes, Tennessee eventually found the end zone.

It took until the fourth quarter.

Seattle kept the Titans without a touchdown through the first three quarters despite Tennessee repeatedly reaching Seahawks territory — including a possession that started at Seattle's 11 following White's muffed punt.

And when the Seahawks desperately needed another opportunity late, the defense delivered.

Seattle stopped Tennessee on consecutive third-and-1 and fourth-and-1 plays from the Seahawks' 8, handing the offense the ball with 3:28 remaining and a chance to tie or win the game.

That chance lasted one play.

The defense wasn't perfect ... but it gave Seattle more than enough opportunities to win.

LOSER: Seahawks Injury Luck

This one matters a whole lot more than the final score.

Safety Bud Clark suffered a broken ankle on Seattle's first defensive snap, an injury that will sideline the rookie for several months.

Offensive lineman Mason Richman also left during Seattle's opening drive, with Macdonald saying afterward that the team feared a significant injury.

That's an especially rough development for a Seattle team that had already lost receiver Jake Bobo to a season-ending knee injury during its joint practice with Tennessee.

Nobody cares much about being 0-2 in August.

Losing players who could have helped you when the games actually matter?

That's a different story.
