Experts overwhelmingly favor Seattle. Can the Seahawks overcome the 49ers again, or does a contrarian view hold the key to victory?

Is everybody right about your Seattle Seahawks?

Or do the 12s have something to worry about regarding their team's chances tonight against the visiting San Francisco 49ers the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs?

Overwhelmingly, the "experts'' are predicting a Seattle win and an advancement to the NFC Championship against either the Los Angeles Rams for Chicago Bears on Jan. 25.

And we can see why.

The Seahawks just beat the Niners two weeks ago, 13-3, and have allowed only 20 points in their two meetings with them.

And they're rested, as by virtue of winning the NFC West and earning the No. 1 seed, Seattle enters here with essentially two weeks of rest.

Enter ... the entire panel of ESPN's "Get Up!'' ... which on on Friday morning picked the Seahawks.

Everybody is on the same page.

From Peter Schrager: "I hate that we're all picking against them, but I just don't see it for the Niners."

From Joe Fortenbaugh: "I'm laying the seven points with Seattle. Sam Darnold's kryptonite is pressure. Problem for San Francisco is they can't generate any. This is a brutal spot for the Niners. Seahawks roll here."

From Bart Scott: "Sam Darnold just doesn't have to mess this up and Seattle wins."

From Louis Riddick: "Seattle's just too strong. Klint Kubiak is too smart to put this game in harm's way. Seattle wins easily."

The only oddball thought from ESPN? As is often the case, that comes from Ryan Clark.

Sam Darnold has a bit of an injury. Clark sees it as a conspiracy.

"It sounds like the setup for an excuse,'' Clark said. "It sounds like the things that you say before a game when you don't play well. When the throws aren't where they're supposed to be. Everybody can point back and say, 'but you have to remember he didn't get those first-team reps and his oblique was tight on Thursday.'

Weird.

The things the 49ers do have going for them? Head coach Kyle Shanahan is undefeated in the Wild Card/Divisional Round (7-0). And their QB Brock Purdy is 4-0 in games at the Seahawks.

That's something. But to the experts? It's not enough.
