The eyes of the NFL continue to be drawn toward Seattle, as HBO's "Hard Knocks" announced its featuring the Seahawks in the show's latest season.

The NFL spotlight continues to shine on Seattle, as the Seahawks were confirmed to be the subject of the latest season of HBO's "Hard Knocks."

After 25 on the air, the long-running series will set up shop in Seattle for the first time. Many other teams have gotten the opportunity to share their story beyond the field and now the Seahawks have the chance to do the same.

Seattle is the first defending Super Bowl champion to be featured on the show since the 2001, when the Baltimore Ravens were showcased in its debut season. The Seahawks are vying to do what their bird brethren could not do -- repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

That part of the journey won't be shown on HBO, however, as the Seahawks are featured as a part of the "Hard Knocks Training Camp" portion of the show. Despite its roots in following a team from start to end, later seasons have opted for offseason and in-season editions.

While no on-the-field theatrics will be taped, the Seahawks are sure to provide entertainment in the lead up to their reigning champion season. Seattle is one of best teams in the league, evidenced by its win last season, so the insights into their preparations is sure to be engaging and inciteful.

Outside of the pure football, the Seahawks are home to several charismatic players that are quickly becoming household names, such as wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and backup-turned-champion quarterback Sam Darnold.

Alongside these players, Seattle's head coach Mike Macdonald has drawn attention from around the league as one of the most impressive young coaches. The interaction between Macdonald and his players and the leadership he showcases is sure to make for several memorable moments in the series.

Even if it may be brief, Seahawks faithful will get the chance to peer behind the curtain and not only see the hard work that goes into forming their favorite team, but learn more about the actual people who dawn the logo each week.

While its been a long time coming, HBO's first visit to Seattle could not come at a better time. The Seahawks have soared to heights seldom seen in their time in the NFL and don't appear to be losing their wings anytime soon. Getting to experience their journey during the renaissance of the franchise has the potential to be one of the most memorable moments for longtime fans.
