The Seahawks lost just twice at home in 2025 en route to a Super Bowl win, but Mike Macdonald's team has to replicate that in 2026.
There are a couple of NFL teams that truly boast a home advantage in the NFL, and one is the Seattle Seahawks.
Lumen Field, when the 12's get their voices going, is one of the most intimidating places to play in football, and it has been that way for years.
And as the Seahawks look to defend their Super Bowl title, Lumen Field has to become a fortress for Mike Macdonald's team.
Last season, the Seahawks boasted a 14-3 record, but two of those three losses came at home (49ers Week 1, Buccaneers Week 5). Other than that, Seattle was superb for the duration of the season.
But to win 14 regular-season games in back-to-back seasons and to lose just once on the road is a nearly impossible thing to replicate.

And in 2026, the Seahawks are going to have a chance to make Lumen Field a fortress again.
For CBS Sports' Garrett Podell, the Seahawks are winners of the schedule release because six of their seven prime time games are at home.
"To the victor belongs the spoils," Podell wrote. "The defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks will play in seven stand alone games, six of which will be in prime time. Of those six primetime showdowns, five of them will be in the friendly confines of Lumen Field in downtown Seattle in front of the crowd that brought the football world the "BeastQuake."
Now, that might not seem like a big deal on paper, but we know how tough it can be to play at Lumen Field when the fans are doing their best to put the opposition off.
There will be a natural regression from Seattle; there's no doubt about that, because the law of averages suggests the Seahawks won't be as bulletproof on the road.
That means they will likely drop some games, especially in Denver and Philadelphia, which loom as Seattle's toughest road games outside of the division.
But Macdonald's team does have enough talent to weather that storm, and, being on prime time so often, the entire NFL world will get a good look at Seattle.
Will they be feared as they were last season? Or will being under the bright lights often show some cracks in the armor?
Making Lumen Field a fortress is a good way to ensure playoff football, and for Seattle, it gets a chance to showcase that homefield advantage six times in a prime time slot.
