After the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Buffalo Bills, QB Aaron Rodgers said some guys on offense were missing film sessions.
As a result, Rodgers had teammates over at his house on his birthday to watch film.
Rodgers turned 42 on Tuesday. He has 2,086 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions on the season.
The one-time Super Bowl champion is completing 65.2% of his passes.
Rodgers is playing with three fractures in his left wrist. The veteran also suffered an injury to his nose against the Bills, with cameras showing him bleeding after getting hit hard by Joey Bosa.
“I don’t feel like this team has a freak out or a panic that I need to like send a message out to the zeitgeist that everybody needs to just relax a little bit,” Rodgers said Wednesday. “We’ve been playing inconsistent football, that’s for sure. Got to play better.”
The Steelers face the Baltimore Ravens this week. The winner will take sole possession of first place in the AFC North.
“We played three games, we played two (teams) that would turn out to be playoff teams and we went one and two, and then we went on an absolute heater after that,” Rodgers said. “You kind of wait and hope for that run that you can go on to kind of get to be playing the right way come December But I think from a foundational standpoint, to be playing meaningful games in December is special and we need to embrace that.”
The Steelers are averaging 23.4 points per game on the season. They are 15th in the NFL in scoring.
Rodgers signed a one-year contract with the Steelers. He could retire from the NFL after this season.
A future Hall of Famer, Rodgers hasn't won a playoff game since 2020. The Steelers, meanwhile, have a long playoff-win drought as well. The franchise hasn't won a postseason game since 2016.
