The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting for an answer from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a very unfortunate situation to be in. If Rodgers walks, Pittsburgh would be in a rather brutal position right now, as it hasn't done anything to add a better quarterback to this roster.

However, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger seems to think there's an option out there for them to pursue, and it probably won't excite fans.

“There’s a lot of factors involved with this whole thing,” Roethlisberger said. “I would think and hope that Aaron would give a decision by the draft.”

“Here’s something I would consider that happened recently,” Roethlisberger said. “Josh Dobbs just got released by New England. I would strongly — if Aaron is not coming back — I’d love to bring a veteran guy in like Dobbs, who’s been here. Obviously a new system, not the same coaching staff, but bring a veteran guy in.”

The name Josh Dobbs is probably the last one that all Steelers fans wanted to hear, and I don't disagree with them if they feel that way. Not that he can't be a decent player in the right system, but he's gotten many opportunities around the NFL, and there's a reason why many see him as a career backup at this stage.

To me, the better idea would be drafting a quarterback and hoping he develops at some point, but Roethlisberger doesn't believe that should happen.

“I don’t think the Steelers should draft a quarterback early in this draft by any means. If you want to try and grab one in the fourth or somewhere just to add someone.”

There's certainly a lot that has to happen for the Steelers over the next few weeks to months, but hopefully, Rodgers will give them an answer so they can figure out what to do in the draft.

Big Ben always has thoughts on the Steelers, and a lot of them are decent. However, it’s a bit surprising to hear someone like him say that Pittsburgh, of all teams, should go with a quarterback who hasn’t shown much in his career.
