Heading into the 2026 NFL season, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is set to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers once again. However, he has made it clear that this will be the final year of his legendary career.
Rodgers played last season with the Steelers as well. He helped lead to the team to the playoffs, but was quickly bounced out in the Wild Card round by the Houston Texans.
After a short consideration period this offseason, Rodgers decided to return for one last run.
Throughout the course of the 2025 NFL season with Pittsburgh, Rodgers played solid football. He appeared in 16 out of 17 games, completing 65.7 percent of his pass attempts for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Rodgers wasn't the elite superstar that he once was, but he still played well.
Keeping all of that in mind, let's take a look at a few bold predictions for Rodgers in 2026.
Aaron Rodgers Will Throw for at Least 3,800 Yards
Fans should expect to see Rodgers' numbers increase this season. He will have top wideout DK Metcalf back on the roster, but also will have a new weapon to throw to. Pittsburgh made the move to acquire Michael Pittman Jr. from the Indianapolis Colts.
In addition, the Steelers brought in former Alabama standout Germie Bernard in the NFL Draft.
Pittsburgh also signed free agent running back Rico Dowdle, who should be an impact player. All of that will add to Rodgers throwing for at least 3,800 yards.
The 42-Year-Old Quarterback Has Another 30-10 Season
Rodgers has always been elite at taking care of the football. He has posted career numbers of 527 touchdowns and just 123 interceptions.
More of the same should be the case in 2026. Even though he is aging, Rodgers is still one of the smartest football IQ quarterbacks in the NFL.
Pittsburgh will see Rodgers throw at least 30 touchdown passes, while only throwing 10 or fewer interceptions.
Pittsburgh Makes a Run to the AFC Championship Game
Finally, Rodgers will lead the Steelers to a lot of team success. His strong play to close out his career will end up seeing Pittsburgh make a run to the AFC Championship Game.
We're not going to go farther than that prediction. Perhaps Rodgers can lead a Super Bowl run for the Steelers on his way out the door into retirement.
At the end of the day, such a strong individual performance and having team success will end up being the perfect way for Rodgers to end his career.
