Could the Pittsburgh Steelers trade Mason Rudolph to the Miami Dolphins or Philadelphia Eagles?

The Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles were named potential trade suitors for Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph by NFL analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report.

Knox believes the Steelers can get a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick for Rudolph.

The Dolphins are 0-5 and starter Malik Willis hasn't played well. Meanwhile, the Eagles just lost starter Jalen Hurts for the season, so they need a QB.

Pittsburgh has four QBs right now: Aaron Rodgers, Will Howard, Drew Allar and Rudolph. There's no point in having four QBs, so the Steelers should part ways with Rudolph to free up cap space.

Rudolph has one year left on his contract. He has a base salary of $3 million for this season. The Steelers should get out of his contract as soon as possible.

Rudolph is a below-average QB. He serves no purpose on the Steelers roster. The 30-year-old has 4,925 career passing yards, 30 touchdown passes and 22 interceptions. He's played for the Steelers [twice] and Tennessee Titans.

There might be a team desperate for a No. 2 QB. The Steelers have to find that team and offer them Rudolph, who won't play in Pittsburgh in 2026.

If Pittsburgh can't trade Rudolph, cutting him would be the next logical move.

Should Rodgers get hurt this season, Allar and Howard are ahead of Rudolph on the depth chart.

Rodgers has 539 touchdown passes in his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Steelers. The future Hall of Famer is tied with Peyton Manning for third on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list.

If Rodgers throws a touchdown in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, he will be in sole possession of third place.

Tom Brady is first in NFL history with 649 touchdown passes. Drew Brees is second with 571.

Rodgers has 1,487 passing yards and 12 touchdown passes this season. He's completing 61.4% of his passes.

Pittsburgh is averaging 22.8 points per game in Year 1 of the Mike McCarthy era. Rodgers and McCarthy led the Packers to a Super Bowl XLV win against the Steelers back in 2011.

Rodgers will retire from the NFL after this season. He has been a pro since 2005. The four-time MVP has played for the Packers, Jets and Steelers.

Rodgers enters Week 7 with 67,761 career passing yards and 539 career passing touchdowns. The Steelers will be favored to beat the Saints in Paris.

"You can go to 3-3 and then you've got a Paris trip ... and that's just not what you want to do, obviously," Rodgers said after the Steelers beat the Bucs. "To be 4-2, to win our first road game ... to beat a team we should've beat ... there's no two ways about it, you've got to beat teams like that if you want to get where we want to get."

Can Rodgers win a Super Bowl in his final NFL season like Manning did with the Denver Broncos? Only time will tell.

Pittsburgh is tied with the Cleveland Browns at 4-2 in the AFC North. However, the Browns beat the Steelers a couple of weeks ago, so technically, Cleveland is in first place in the division.

Rodgers had 3,322 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions last season. The Steelers won the AFC North but lost to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Pittsburgh's offensive line needs to protect Rodgers better moving forward. Otherwise, the NFL legend could get injured soon. The oldest active QB in the NFL can't keep getting sacked like this.

Rodgers has been sacked 19 times this season.
