Jaquan Brisker went after Jared Verse after the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns.
New Pittsburgh Steelers defender Jaquan Brisker destroyed new Cleveland Browns star Jared Verse after the Steelers beat the Browns on Sunday.
Verse talked a lot of trash about the Steelers before the game and it backfired on him.
"He should have kept his mouth shut," Brisker said. "All that talking and to come out with zero tackles, that's bad. You didn't stand behind your words and you didn't stand on business. So he got to look himself in the mirror and get better."
Verse started his trash-talking a month ago after the Browns' 27-24 home win over the Steelers in Week 4. He called out Pittsburgh's offensive linemen for being "dirty" and said he couldn't "wait to get my hands on them again."
On Sunday, Verse finished with one tackle and a quarterback hit as the Steelers rushed for 200 yards.
"I stand by everything I say," Verse said after the game. "As a man, you have to naturally do that."
Verse was frequently jawing with Steelers offensive players during the game and also drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on Mason McCormick after the Pittsburgh guard swept the legs of a leaping Verse during a point-after try and slammed him to the ground.
"To do something like that, I don't have respect for anything like that," Verse said.
McCormick defended his actions after the game.
"I really had no idea who it was," McCormick said. "Just felt somebody jump, and we're told to get jumpers' hands down, and that's really it."
The Steelers' 23rd straight regular-season home win over the Browns gave them sole possession of first place in the AFC North.
With the "Dawg Pound" being a prominent aspect of the Browns' fan base, the Steelers' social media account sent a variety of dog-themed trolls. One of them was an image of a car's reverse camera showing a smiling dog. However, Pittsburgh indicated that it would be reversing into the dog and wrote in the caption on X: "ruh roh."
Others included dogs wearing Steelers gear. The main image is a reference to a scene from the 2025 film "Sinners" when Stack, played by Michael B. Jordan, reacts excitedly to Sammie playing the guitar. In this case, he's reacting to the Steelers' final score.
Pittsburgh enters the bye week at 6-2.
In his first season with the Steelers, Brisker has 25 solo tackles, one QB hit and three passes defended. The Penn State product spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Chicago Bears.
After the bye week, the Steelers face Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in another AFC North matchup.
In his final NFL season, Aaron Rodgers has 1,871 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. The future Hall of Famer is completing 60.8% of his passes.
A four-time MVP, Rodgers has 68,145 passing yards and 540 passing touchdowns in the NFL. He's played for the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Steelers.
