The Pittsburgh Steelers either make the playoffs or at least contend for the postseason every year, but they have not actually won a playoff game since January 2017.
A big reason for that has been a lackluster offense that has been bereft of nuance, particularly when it comes to the aerial attack.
Take 2025, for example. The Steelers had D.K. Metcalf and virtually nothing else at wide receiver, which made their passing game maddeningly predictable.
Pittsburgh is expected to add another receiver in some capacity this offseason, whether that's via free agency (the Steelers have a nice chunk of cap room) or through the NFL Draft.
This upcoming draft class is teeming with talent at wide receiver, so it's certainly a great opportunity for Pittsburgh to add a significant piece.
In fact, Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus thinks the Steelers might get very active in that department, naming them a team to watch to potentially swing an "aggressive" NFL Draft trade.

Pittsburgh traded a second-rounder for Metcalf last offseason and is not known as an organization that likes to part with draft capital, so it would certainly be out of character for the Steelers to trade more picks. And for a wide receiver, no less.
But Cameron feels it could be worth it for Pittsburgh to trade up and nab a pass-catcher on Day 1.
"With Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, USC’s Makai Lemon and Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson all situated inside the top 15 on the PFF Predictive Big Board, the Steelers are well-situated to make competitive offers to move up to draft a key playmaker," Cameron added.
If I were the Steelers, I would personally stay away from Tyson, who has a very checkered injury history. Plus, Tate will probably be gone by the time Pittsburgh picks (I doubt the Steelers will be able to move up into the top 10).
Lemon, however, could represent a great fit next to Metcalf, as he would complement the big-bodied receiver very well.
We'll see if the Steelers try to make a move.
