The Pittsburgh Steelers have been tabbed as a potential trade destination for a dynamic wide receiver.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are definitely in need of another wide receiver this offseason, regardless of whether or not Aaron Rodgers returns for 2026.

D.K. Metcalf was the Steelers' only reliable wide out this past season, so Pittsburgh will absolutely need to get him a running mate.

While the Steelers have the cap room to make a move in free agency and could also select a receiver in the NFL Draft, Jarrett Bailey of Behind the Steel Curtain has pitched numerous potential trade targets for Pittsburgh.

One of them is Minnesota Vikings star Jordan Addison, who is currently embroiled in a rather sticky contract situation with his current club.

"The Vikings have until May 1st to pick up Addison’s fifth-year option," Bailey wrote. "Should Minnesota decide they won’t pick up the option, they could trade Addison to get something in return rather than lose him for nothing next offseason."

Of course, the Vikings already handed Justin Jefferson a massive long-term deal, so they may not want to fall into the Cincinnati Bengals trap of paying big money to two wide receivers.

Addison caught 42 passes for 610 yards and three touchdowns in what was the least productive campaign of his career in 2025, but to be fair, it's not like Minnesota had enviable circumstances under center.

The Vikings originally selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft and watched as the USC product hauled in 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 scores during his rookie season.

Addison then snared 63 balls for 875 yards and nine scores in another impressive showing in 2024 before his downturn this past year. He has punched in 22 receiving touchdowns overall in his NFL career.

There is no question that the 24-year-old would comprise a tremendous addition for the Steelers, but the problem is that Pittsburgh already traded its second-round pick for Metcalf last spring.

The Steelers typically don't like to trade for receivers to begin with, so the chances of them trading even more draft capital for another one seems relatively slim.

Most likely, Pittsburgh will find an answer in free agency or the draft, the latter of which contains a very deep crop of pass-catchers next month.
