The Pittsburgh Steelers are being urged to consider signing a Pro Bowl playmaker for Aaron Rodgers.
On the outside looking in, the Pittsburgh Steelers' offense has the makings of something special. Led by future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, there are plenty of playmakers already in place on the roster.
Currently, the Steelers feature DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. at the wide receiver position. The offseason trade with the Indianapolis Colts for Pittman added a much-needed new element to the offense.
At the running back position, Pittsburgh currently has Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle. Adding Dowdle in free agency was a big move to help improve the ground attack.
With that being said, the Steelers are being urged to consider signing another Pro Bowl playmaker for Rodgers.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes that Pittsburgh is one of the top potential landing spots for free agent wide receiver Deebo Samuel. He also mentioned the Atlanta Falcons as a possible destination for Samuel.
"Though he's never been a true No. 1 receiver, Samuel has been consistently productive when healthy. Even at 30, he can still be a quality contributor as a receiver and change-of-pace backfield option," Knox wrote.
"Samuel would make the most sense for a potential playoff contender that needs receiver depth and is looking to lead with its ground game."
Samuel played the 2025 NFL season with the Washington Commanders after being traded by the San Francisco 49ers. He ended up appearing in 16 games, catching 72 passes for 727 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, he also ran for 75 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
Bringing in Samuel would make sense for the Steelers. He would slot in nicely as the No. 3 wideout behind Metcalf and Pittman. Samuel would add another playmaker to the offense who could make an impact at wideout or out of the backfield.
Recently, the 49ers have been heavily linked to a reunion with Sameul. Current San Francisco stars have been actively recruiting him back to the team.
If Pittsburgh does want to make a move for Samuel, it will need to act fast. He may not be a star anymore, but Samuel is a high-impact role player. The Steelers would be wise to at least consider the option.
