Aaron Rodgers is a nice guy. You just have to get to know him off the field.
After the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jalon Daniels went up to Aaron Rodgers and asked for his jersey.
Rodgers is Daniels' idol, so when Rodgers not only said yes to giving him his jersey but also asked for his jersey, Daniels couldn't believe it.
"[I] was about to walk away and he was like, 'Wait, hold on. Can I get yours?'" Daniels said, via ESPN. "Now, that's kind of what caught me by surprise."
The Steelers beat the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay by a final score of 26-19 in overtime. After the game, Rodgers told CBS that he likes Daniels' game.
"I appreciate the respect," Rodgers said of Daniels on the CBS broadcast. "Super respectful guy. I like his game. I like the way he throws it. Obviously, super talented with his feet. I'm excited to see how he develops. Learning behind a guy who's played a long time like Baker is obviously going to be great for him."
Daniels was touched by the praise.
"I respect that, as well," Daniels said. "It's not every day you hear that from a Hall of Famer."
Rodgers has 1,487 passing yards and 12 touchdown passes this season. He's completing 61.4% of his passes.
Pittsburgh is averaging 22.8 points per game in Year 1 of the Mike McCarthy era. Rodgers and McCarthy led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl XLV win against the Steelers back in 2011. They reunited this offseason.
Rodgers will retire from the NFL after this season. He has been a pro since 2005. The four-time MVP has played for the Packers, New York Jets and Steelers.
Rodgers enters Week 7 with 67,761 career passing yards and 539 career passing touchdowns. The Steelers will be favored to beat the New Orleans Saints in Paris.
A future first-ballot Hall of Famer, Rodgers has 539 touchdown passes in his NFL career with the Packers, Jets and Steelers. The NFL legend is tied with Peyton Manning for third on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list.
If Rodgers throws a touchdown in Week 7 against the Saints, he will be in sole possession of third place.
Tom Brady is first in NFL history with 649 touchdown passes. Drew Brees is second with 571.
Can Rodgers win a Super Bowl in his final NFL season like Manning did with the Denver Broncos? Only time will tell. The odds are pretty low since the Steelers have many flaws on both sides of the ball.
However, we said the same thing about the 2010 Packers and they shocked the world by winning the Super Bowl. Let's see if Rodgers has one more trick up his sleeve before leaving the NFL for good.
