This is great news for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced massive Jalen Ramsey news on Monday (8/24).
Ramsey was activated off the PUP list. He will return to practice after dealing with a knee injury.
One of the best players in the NFL, Ramsey played in all 17 games for the Steelers last season. He finished with one interception, eight passes defended, 3.0 sacks, 53 solo tackles, four tackles for loss and four QB hits. The Florida State product made his eighth Pro Bowl.
Ramsey is entering his second year with the Steelers, who lost to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round of the playoffs last season. Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach and was replaced by former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.
A one-time Super Bowl champion, Ramsey enters this season with 25 career interceptions. He's one of the top CBs in the NFL and the Steelers will need him to have another strong season to make the playoffs again.
In Year 1 of the McCarthy era, the Steelers face the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans.
McCarthy and QB Aaron Rodgers won Super Bowl XLV against the Steelers as members of the Packers. However, Rodgers hasn't won a playoff game since the 2020 season and the Steelers haven't won a playoff game since the 2016 season.
It will be intriguing to see how Rodgers plays this season, his final year in the NFL. The four-time MVP finished with 3,322 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2025. He completed 65.7% of his passes
"I think we were close last year," Rodgers said. "I think we added some good pieces. I felt like we needed a lineman probably at some point, drafted a guy in the first round that I like. I thought we needed somebody who could work in the slot. Obviously, Germie (Bernard), being picked there, is a guy they think can do it. Bring in (Michael) Pittman, was obviously a good addition. Rico Dowdle, Jamel (Dean) on defense. (Jaquan) Brisker as well, so a lot of good pieces added to the mix."
