Own a piece of North Shore history as the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise launches a massive renovation project, offering authenticated, refurbished stadium seating and autographed memorabilia directly to the fans.

Steelers Fans Have Awesome Opportunity to Buy Acrisure Stadium seats

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to make major renovations to Acrisure Stadium, which first opened in 2001.

The stadium was first renovated in 2007 and expanded in 2015. It now holds 68,400 fans. Those sellout crowds can be among the most intimidating in the league when the terrible towels come out.

Last October, the Steelers revealed they were making changes to the stadium, planning to provide upgrades to the stadium through 2028. Many of the upgrades will have to do with the seating.

“The Sports and Exhibition Authority, which controls Acrisure Stadium’s lease, on Thursday greenlit just under $6.2 million in capital reserve funds to Steelers affiliate PSSI Stadium LLC for the first phase of the seat-replacement project, during which 22,236 new seats will be installed in the North Shore stadium over the next two years,” Adam Babetski of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote.

The Steelers are set to replace 58,719 seats for a project that will cost nearly $18 million.

What will the Steelers do with the outdated seats?

Sell them to the fans. After they're made good again, of course.

Per Patrick Damp of CBS News, the Steelers have partnered with MeiGray to refurbish 22,000 seats and resell them.

The memorabilia starts at $199 and goes up to $599 for a pair of seats. Some seats have autographs from former players like James Harrison, which will be sold for $299.

"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with MeiGray, giving fans the first opportunity to own a piece of the Steelers' iconic home, sustainably repurposed and authenticated by a renowned game-used sports memorabilia authenticator," Ryan Huzjak, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the Pittsburgh Steelers, told CBS News.

The Steelers are offering their fans a really cool novelty item. Those seats have seen Pittsburgh win a lot of games, including two of those teams going on to win Super Bowls.

One would imagine these will sell quickly, but don't worry if seats sell out for the first round.

MeiGray and the Steelers plan to refurbish and sell a new batch following the 2026 season when more renovations are done to the stadium.
