Pittsburgh Steelers insider Mark Kaboly has provided an exciting update about head coach Mike McCarthy.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are heading into a new era for the franchise during the 2026 NFL season.
Gone are the days of Mike Tomlin leading the charge. To replace him, the Steelers quickly pivoted to hire former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.
Under Tomlin, winning seasons were never a question. In fact, Pittsburgh never had a losing season with Tomlin as its head coach. Losing Tomlin has made some question what to expect in the upcoming campaign.
McCarthy is a proven head coach with a track record of success. Coming into this season, he has compiled a 174-112-2 overall record. He has also gone 11-11 in the postseason and was able to lead the Packers to a Super Bowl win back in the 2010 season.
So far, things have been looking good under McCarthy. One insider spoke out with an exciting update about the Steelers' new head coach.
During an appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show," Pittsburgh insider Mark Kaboly revealed an update about the feeling at Steelers camp.
"It has been totally different at Steelers training camp," Kaboly said. "Mike McCathy has changed virtually everything about this organization and how they go about their business. His attention to detail is off the charts."
That is exactly what the fan base would want to hear. McCarthy being extremely focused on detail is what wins football games come playoff time. For a fan base that has grown frustrated with regular season success and postseason failure, this could lead to a breath of fresh air.
Pittsburgh has the roster in place to be a serious Super Bowl contender in the AFC. On both sides of the football, the Steelers are loaded with talent.
If McCarthy can get the entire team to buy in and fit into their respective roles, the sky is the limit for Pittsburgh.
Throughout his career, McCarthy has proven himself to be a great X's and O's head coach. He has put players in positions to succeed. His track record with Aaron Rodgers also speaks for itself.
Hopefully, the experienced head coach and his quarterback can turn back the clock. They won a Super Bowl together in Green Bay. Perhaps they will be able to bring that same level of success to the Steelers this season.
For now, all of the updates coming out of Pittsburgh sound good for the Steelers. McCarthy is off to a strong start and is clearly creating some fans of the media.
