Aaron Rodgers can make major NFL history in Week 7 against the Saints.
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The future Hall of Famer has 539 touchdown passes in his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, New York Jets and Steelers.
Rodgers is tied with Peyton Manning for third on the NFL's all-time passing touchdown list. If Rodgers throws a touchdown in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, he will be in sole possession of third place.
Tom Brady is first in NFL history with 649 touchdown passes. Drew Brees is second with 571.
The Steelers beat the Buccaneers in overtime by a final score of 26-19. They are 4-2.
Rodgers has 1,487 passing yards and 12 touchdown passes this season. He's completing 61.4% of his passes.
Pittsburgh is averaging 22.8 points per game in Year 1 of the Mike McCarthy era. Rodgers and McCarthy led the Packers to a Super Bowl XLV win against the Steelers back in 2011.
Rodgers will retire from the NFL after this season. He has been a pro since 2005. The four-time MVP has played for the Packers, Jets and Steelers.
Rodgers enters Week 7 with 67,761 career passing yards and 539 career passing touchdowns. The Steelers will be favored to beat the Saints in Paris.
"You can go to 3-3 and then you've got a Paris trip ... and that's just not what you want to do, obviously," Rodgers said after the Steelers beat the Bucs. "To be 4-2, to win our first road game ... to beat a team we should've beat ... there's no two ways about it, you've got to beat teams like that if you want to get where we want to get."
Can Rodgers win a Super Bowl in his final NFL season like Manning did with the Denver Broncos? Only time will tell.
Rodgers' string of three consecutive games with three TD passes ended against the Bucs. However, winning is the only thing that matters at this stage of Rodgers' career.
Pittsburgh is tied with the Cleveland Browns at 4-2 in the AFC North. However, the Browns beat the Steelers a couple of weeks ago, so technically, Cleveland is in first place in the division.
Rodgers had 3,322 passing yards, 24 passing touchdowns and seven interceptions last season. The Steelers won the AFC North but lost to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
Pittsburgh's offensive line needs to protect Rodgers better moving forward. Otherwise, the NFL legend could get injured soon. The oldest active QB in the NFL can't keep getting sacked like this.
Rodgers has been sacked 19 times this season.
