The Pittsburgh Steelers seem to be staying away from one position in particular in the NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have some very clear needs heading into the NFL Draft, and filling those holes could result in a second straight AFC North division title.
However, one area in which the Steelers appear to be pretty comfortable is at cornerback, specifically after signing Jamel Dean and re-signing Asante Samuel Jr.
Not only that, but Pittsburgh does not seem to be overly impressed with what is slated to be available at the position in this year's draft class.
That's according to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
"The Steelers have amassed such a deep cast that they may not be enamored with this draft class at the position," Batko wrote.
Considering that cornerback is actually viewed by many to be one of the deepest groups in this upcoming class, Pittsburgh's apparent malaise regarding the position is interesting. But it probably has more to do with the Steelers feeling like they are relatively set at that spot.
Plus, if Pittsburgh is going to add someone to the secondary, it would probably be at safety, where the Steelers have a far more significant need.

The Steelers have holes along the interior of their offensive line as well as the wide receiver position (at least as far as depth is concerned), and they may also look to nab a quarterback with Aaron Rodgers' future up in the air.
Pittsburgh made a couple of impactful free-agent signings this offseason, adding Dean as well as landing running back Rico Dowdle. The Steelers also bagged safety Jaquan Brisker on a one-year contract.
Given how much the rest of the AFC North has fallen over the last year, Pittsburgh will have a great chance to further stock its roster in this draft for yet another run at a division title in 2026.
As far as cornerback is concerned? Again, the Steelers have 12 picks, so I find it hard to believe they will ignore the position entirely. Perhaps Pittsburgh will pick up a developmental prospect on Day 3.
