The Pittsburgh Steelers do not yet know who will be under center for them next season. The general consensus is that Aaron Rodgers will return, but even if he does, we know that Rodgers is a year-to-year case at quarterback.
What are the Steelers going to do about the future?
This is a rather thin quarterback draft class, so Pittsburgh might not be able to find its answer next month. Rumor has it that the Steelers love Will Howard, whom they selected in the sixth round last year, but I'm not entirely sure how valid that is.
Pittsburgh has opted to stay out of the veteran signal-caller market, which Dom DiTomasso of 93.7 The Fan thinks is a major mistake.
In fact, DiTomasso went as far to say that allowing Kyler Murray to sign with the Minnesota Vikings was "one of the biggest mistakes in franchise history."
“The Steelers made a grave error on Friday, because they had the chance to sign their next franchise quarterback ... and that guy is Kyler Murray," DiTomasso said.
Murray was released by the Arizona Cardinals after 2025 and ultimately signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Vikings (he is still slated to receive $36.8 million in guarantees from the Cardinals).

The "next 10 to 15 years?" That's a bit rich.
Murray is already 28 years old with a very checkered injury history, so the chances of him playing a decade-and-a-half longer in the NFL seem incredibly slim.
The former No. 1 overall pick has played just one full season since 2020, and when he has been on the field since then, he has been nothing more than decent, at best.
And if Murray were as much of a slam-dunk franchise quarterback as DiTomasso seems to think, then why would Arizona pay him $36.8 million just to go away?
Murray was almost certainly not a sure-fire answer to Pittsburgh's quarterback issues. The Steelers would probably be better off taking a shot on someone like Drew Allar who actually has a chance of becoming a franchise player in Steel City.
