When we think of Pittsburgh Steelers football, one of the first guys that's going to come to our minds is always Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger is arguably the best quarterback in franchise history, and he really did a lot for the city of Pittsburgh during his time there.
From winning Super Bowls to being a genuinely good guy to most fans, it was important that he achieved the success he did, as he set the foundation for the future of this organization.
It sounds like some on the current roster even understand that now, including all-time great Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers can play in Pittsburgh for the next two seasons and win Super Bowls in both years, but he understands that this is Roethlisberger’s organization, and rightfully so.
Rodgers doesn't want to make it seem like he has nothing but respect for him, going so far as to say that he had a lot of fun watching him and has a ton of respect for what he did on the field.
"I enjoyed watching him play over the years because he wasn't the fastest guy but he was hard to take down. He was always swinging that ball around, keeping the plays alive," he told reporters. "This is Big Ben's team, I'm just happy to be a part of the organization now."
All-time-wise, it's only fair to say that Rodgers is a better quarterback than Roethlisberger, but that really just goes to show how good Rodgers is and nothing against Roethlisberger.
Rodgers is arguably one of the top five quarterbacks in NFL history, while Roethlisberger doesn't come too close to that.
It's been an impressive year for Rodgers, something that might be a bit surprising to most.
Coming into the season, there were some questions about how he’d look, and it mostly only came down to his age.
There were also times when he struggled with the New York Jets, but it might be unfair to put that all on Rodgers, considering the lack of success New York has found over much of the past 20-plus years.
Nonetheless, Pittsburgh seems to have found another great quarterback, so hopefully it's longer than a year.
